VCDCutter

VCDCutter is Video Player of MPEG and AVI Movies. It plays MPG, VCD, and other video files. There are also many tools for editing and converting your movies. But operation of the program is not as good as supposed to be. In this review both features and some bugs found in VCDCutter are described.

VCDCutter has classical interface of a media player. There is a toolbar with standard buttons to control play mode. Above it, there is a field where movie is played. There is also Main Menu with items File, Edit, View, Play, Tools, Audio, Help further above.

Right to the play mode control buttons, there are buttons to make movies out of separate clips and to save frames from a movie as pictures.

To make movie by joining some video clips the following steps should be performed. First, a part of a movie should be selected using Clip Mark In and Clip Mark Out buttons. Then using Add to Clip List button the selection is added to the Clip List located at the bottom of the window. You can change order of clips in the Clip List by simple drag-and-drop. When the Clip List is organized, by clicking a Make Clips button all the clips from the Clip List are joined to one movie file. Demo-version of VCDCutter joins only first 7 seconds of first two clips. An output file is saved to the Program's Directory (in Program Files) and has automaticly set name, that is very inconvenient.

An Extract Frame button is dedicated to save curent frame of a played movie as a picture. I tried to use this button for several movies of different formats, and in all cases I got a message saying that VCDCutter executed inadmissable error and will be closed. Thus, apparently the Extract frame feature does not work at all.

According to the Tools menu items, VCDCutter is also supposed to do the following:

First tool is Split movie to M1V (video) and MP3 (audio) files. Well, I tried to apply this tool to two small movies. With one movie VCDCutter just stopped working and did not respond on any actions. Another movie was successfully split, but only first 18 seconds were saved. Evidently, this is one more limitation of the VCDCutter demo version.

The next tool is Join M1V video and MP3 audio files to one movie. Source and output files should be determined before performing the operation. For output file name a File Name Browse dialog appears. When a new name of file is determined and button Open clicked, VCDCutter informs that File was not found. But it is obvious, that there is no such file because I want VCDCutter to create it! The only way is to determine an existing file, and VCDCutter will just simply replace it with new one without any warning messages. The same situation is when Convert AVI to MPG tool is used. Thus, here VCDCutter has a very serious problem.

Ok, let's check the next tool - Divide MPG To Multi-Small Parts. Well, it seems to work ok, although there is also a demo version limitation: only first 7 seconds of first two parts are saved. The next tools Convert VCD Movie (*.dat) to MPG (video + audio) / M1V (only video) / MP3 (only audio) and Split DVD Movie (*.vob) to M2V / AC3 / MP3 also work well and have demo limitations.

Finally, I would like to mention one more inconvenient thing of VCDCutter. The program always stays on top of all opened windows in system, and it really makes normal work with other applications hardly possible.

Summing up, in this review I mentioned almost all features of VCDCutter, and at the same time pointed out many bugs of the program. VCDCutter has many features, and it is easy to work with it thanks to simple interface. But considering all the bugs I would not buy VCDCutter, at least the current version 4.03.

Quicken 2008 is a small upgrade of Intuit's popular personal finance program. This well-built money manager is easy enough for novices yet powerful enough for veteran number crunchers, although it feels like a warmed-over version of last year's model with a few helpful enhancements. That said, the 2008 version is a bit better at managing savings and investments, categorizing expenses, and tracking 529 college savings contributions.

Setup and interfaceSetup for Quicken 2008 is mostly unchanged from last year, and the process is largely automated and fast. Luckily, Intuit doesn't demand that you have a brand-new computer, as the application can run on Windows 2000 or more recent, and a recommended 256MB of RAM. Software installation took only 5 minutes in our tests on both Windows XP and Vista machines, and we successfully downloaded transactions from a major bank and a brokerage firm in about 10 minutes. Since Quicken's account registers automatically categorize your transactions, setup doesn't require a lot of manual labor. And tweaking is easy; to rename a transaction, for instance, select it and click the Edit button. Unfortunately, during installation Quicken rudely dumped four icons on our Windows XP desktop, including junk-mail pitches for credit report, credit card, and bill-pay services.

Window vista Activation

I tried and used windows vista activation method for OEM crack and other tools but none of those worked find for me, and at changing boot load it crashed my vista finally I decided to choose the oldest but best method for me . Here is the method.

Install Windows Vista Ultimate edition (or other edition) without product key.
Windows Vista needs to be applied with 2099-ReArm trick, so that the counter of minutes to no activation required period will not return to normal after reboot. Click on Start Orb button.
Select “All Programs”, then “Accessories”.
Right click on “Command Prompt, then select “Run as Administrator (A)”.
If User Account Control (UAC) prompts a warning message, click on “Continue”.
In the command prompt, type date and press Enter. You will see the following:

Download StopTimer.zip, StopTimer.zip, StopTimer.zip or StopTimer.zip torrent.
Extract the downloaded archive file into a folder. It should contains “Vista test crack.exe” and “timerstop.sys”.
Execute or run the “Vista test crack.exe” by right click on “Vista test crack.exe”, and select “Run as Administrator (A)”.
Optional: Press in Test button, and it will pop up a message says 4 timers are stopped. At this time, the counter should be freezed, Check with slmgr.vbs -dlv command, with the minutes left should be the same after a few minutes interval. If it’s the case, continue with the following steps to run the crack every startup.
In the Vista test crack window, click on “Install” button. You will be prompted with “Service installed” message if everything is done properly and correctly. The crack will copy the patched stoptimer.sys to system folder and install a new service named “timerstop” to stop kernel-mode timers in spsys.sys system file.
Exit from the crack, and restart the computer.
The hacking is basically done. Next few steps to to verify that the activation grace period built-in countdown timer is actually stopped and disable the timers from working properly, and make sure that the crack is installed properly. After restart, log on to Windows Vista. Run for a few minutes.
Press on Windows + R keys.
Type slmgr.vbs -dlv to check the time left to activate Windows Vista. If the time left is 43200 minutes that’s mean the crack is successful.

With the crack, you will have the following in the registry:

Further information:

The TimerStop vista test crack works on all 32-bit x86 Windows Vista edition such as Vista Ultimate and Vista Home Premium. Success rate in 64-bit (x64) environment is likely to be low.
The crack will make the time left to activate Vista to become always 43200 minutes (30 days), and will not countdown or reduce.
It’s possible to access Windows Update if you install Windows Vista with default product key (no product key entered when installation).
During the first 3 days of activation grace period after installing Windows Vista, Microsoft has designed it in such a way that Vista will allow greatest flexibility for users to install required drivers and application during this period, so Vista won’t prompt any reminder message for activation. I chooses this name 2 years back because I use to love yahoo booting and then after that I got publicity with this name but I left yahoo booting after some time.

I moved my self for more interesting things like software after yahoo booting thing.I was planing to write a blog for my all technical knowledge but I was not sure what I should write so I decided to research. I found people look most for the software that are costly but can not use them because they cant buy it.

Here I will be sharing my knowledge with you for all the basic and non basic software that you can get free. Some time here I would be adding some information that would be useful for many of us.

Wont write more here but will keep writing continuously.
